THE CAMOBELLA STORY
(i.e. "beautiful" camo)
Camobella founder and designer, Reynolds Tatum, developed this signature Camobella print while studying fashion design at SCAD. In her painting class, she was asked to use a master artist’s work of art as inspiration for an assignment. Since she had developed a love for Impressionism while studying abroad in Italy, she chose a painting from Monet’s Water Lilies series.
Reynolds intended for the painting to be hung in her niece’s nursery as a gift, yet the painting never felt quite right. Instead she continued to work with it, integrating it into a computer program for a CAD project and then later had it printed on silk for a draping class. It was then, her future husband offhandedly told her it looked like camo. She was insulted at the time since it was a work of art, but an idea began to take shape. Now years later, Reynolds has turned her painting into the art of camouflage.
She hopes you feel like the beautiful work of art God intended for you to be when you wear Camobella.
